GRK 1462 International Workshop 2017. 26th–28th April, Weimar, Germany. Coupled Numerical and Experimental Models in Structural Engineering
Proceedings
The proceedings at hand are the result from the GRK International Workshop held at the Bauhaus-Universität at Weimar, 2017. It comprises a collection of abstracts and articles dedicated to the overall topic of the DFG funded research training group 1462: “Coupled Numerical and Experimental Models in Structural Engineering“.
The solution of any engineering problem is based on models. The quality of their results strongly depends on characteristics of the used model. Moreover, modern problems of engineering typically require not only single models, but rather a combination of different partial models. Thus, the coupling quality also has to be taken into account when assessing model quality. The research area of the GRK 1462 covers such topics as stochastic, adaptive, inverse and meta-modelling, considering model properties like uncertainty, complexity, robustness and sensitivity.
The authors are both, well experienced specialists and young researchers, from various countries, who share an interest in the description, assessment and evaluation of model quality.
